A local HC does not even connect to a local dedicated server anymore (loopback = true, no password, means LAN mode for testing). It gets kicked immediately. Connecting with x normal local game clients is no problem at all. Must be a very stupid reason to allow normal game clients to connect locally but not a local HC for testing (Steam online/offline mode doesn't matter, Battleye disabled and the BE license entry is in the HC profile set to 1). And who would be so crazy to create a second steam account and buy Alpha 3 a second time to provide stuff for others for free? Right, no one Xeno

Yeah, lol. Users have to make custom content for free so that the game is at least somehow enjoyable but those users who make the content have to invest more money than the average Joe Player and have to work with stoneage methods and tools And the people who actually run a public server which is available for free for normal players are in the same boat Xeno

We have it working. Don't know about loopback, TBH, we followed the tutorial threads on BI forums and when it started working, I stopped reading and just left it alone. Filter server hosts for GITS and you'll see DCSlot connected all the time.
Yes, we had to buy another copy of the game, but the guys were happy to do this in the quest for performance. We shouldn't have to, for sure, but the clan chaps wanted it this way. |

That's not the issue, Tanky, I'm aware that you need another license for a dedicated server which broadcasts to the internet. The problem is that you can't test a HC locally in LAN mode (that's what the loopback is made for) while you can connect with x normal non HC clients on the same machine without any issues.
So the question remains, why can normal non HC clients on the same machine connect to a dedicated server on the same machine in LAN/loopback mode while a HC on the same machine can't. That's what baffles me Xeno

Ah I see now. Yes, it's baffling certainly. As I have access to a remote dedi box and a clan who were happy to shell out for a new license, I never had the need to fiddle with loopback. When I am testing my local dedi box, we do it without a HC. The ability to do so would help us a lot. In other news, according to the dev breaklog today, the debug console works for logged in admins now. That's very useful indeed. Shame we decided to switch to stable. lol. |

It takes a few minutes to upgrade ye good ole stra debug console for A3 and make it MP compatible. And it has a huge/major advantage over the A3 ingame one, it has more (local) execution fields. Xeno

Wanted to add my thanks to Xeno for continuing Domination with the recent release of 2.99m. Arma would not be the same without Domination and it has given my friends and me countless hours of enjoyment over the past couple years. We sure appreciate your time and effort…Thanks again.

+ 1 from Team R3F to you Xeno. For several years now we customize your "baby". So here we go again. I was sure that, despite you being grumpy about BIS, you 'll be on time But you know Bistudio, they are very long to get to the point but in the end... (remenber the not so old 1.60patch of ArmA2) The frist server test I have done is good : FPS serveur around 40, going done to 25 when the main target is "exited". The server.rpt is clean of Domination error (only the classical ArmA error). Works for us now (we going to try to find realistic factions : AAF against new BLUFOR guerrilla?) I'm sorry, but currently the mission only supports Alpha 3 "stable". DEV is simply too unstable at the moment.
It seems that publicVariables are no longer broadcasted to clients (that could be the reason why many things do not work for clients anymore, just guessing here). The skipTime hack is needed to sync JIP clients immediately to a specific overcast value. As already written in this thread setOvercast does always need 30 minutes to execute and during that time another setOvercast has no effect. Maybe BI is changing/fixing the broken weather in the Alpha 3 release version and that's the reason, dunno. Xeno

As per my last here goes ....
x_getmtmission.sqf line 10 missing a ; x_createsecondary.sqf line 11 (as above as same section of code) Heres my question, and through much tracing through Domination it leaves me with this conclusion and all im after is affirmation from the boss Is the time of the Wreck from the model set within its own file (pbo) or is it within Domination. We are currently getting random occurrences which makes me believe its part of the Models makeup and not set during a func in Domina. As far as we can tell it isnt specific but the newer type of models (post beta) seem not to stay regardless of what time is set within Domina. The map markers show but when your there it has since disapeared even if the despawn is set to never? Any ideas why it should be so random and should i be rattling cages at BIS.com <-- Maybe i should borrow his bat Kind Regards Champy |

Afair I've added a limit how often vehicles respawn and how long they stay on the map (I guess you are talking about vehicles you get for resolving a side mission or the ones you get for resolving a main target mission). I think it was an hour before they get deleted once they are destroyed but I'm not sure anymore If the marker is still there then it's a bug, otherwise if some user creates a marker himself then it's a A3 feature where user created markers are also transfered to JIP clients. Err, no, I don't like that one. I'm talking about the first one made by gaia/stra Xeno

Probleme Mission zu starten
Hallo,
habe mir die 2.99m Version runtergeladen. ECHT SUPER ARBEIT XENO!!! Kompliment.
