In the Civil war fought the Union that was the North against the Konföderation that was the south. The war was from 1861 to 1865.

The reasons for the Civil War was the view (Auffassung) about the slavery. The south need the slaves for their economics (Wirtschaft). 
The north however was against the slavery. 
In addition had the South the feeling that they was disadvantaged (benachteiligt), because the North made protectiveduty (Schutzzölle) of Importgoods.
And so on.

The Outbreak of the War
The first strike made the Konföderation under Robert Edward Lee. They attak a union houber in Charlestown. The war was beginning.

The process of war
In the beginning of the war the Union lose battle for battle, the ground was that the Southern troops are better trained and have a better moral as the North troops. But the North had a better economics(Wirtschaft) and more recruit (Rekruten) as the South. So that the North win the Battle by Gettysburg. After this battle the Union troops win all battle, so that they came to Petersburg and Richmond. At the 3th April 1865 are resulted Lee. And at the 13th April the last Troops.

The presidents
Jefferson Davis:
Jefferson Davis was the president of the South States.
He was born in Fairview, Kentucky at the 3th june 1808.
He studie in West Point a military akademy.  At th 9th feburuary 1861 was he voted to president of the south states.
After the war he was accused (angeklagt) of betrayal. (verrat)
But his court hearing (gerichtsverfahren) was stoppes in 1869.
At the 6th December 1889 he died in New Orleans, Lousiana.
Abraham Lincoln:
Abraham Lincoln was the President of the North.
He was born in Nolin Creek in kentuky at the 12th Febuary 1809 in a 
Little block hut. (Block Hütte)
He become President at the 6th November 1860.
He was against the slavery.
After the war was he killed by Wilkes Booth in a theater.

The consequences of the war.
Over 600.000 people was killes in the war.
No slavery more.
Offical equal rights for Blacks.
